Pre-Harvest Services
Quality seed, fertilizer solutions, agronomic guidance, mechanized services, production planning and technical supervision.
BITCO’s integrated agricultural value chain platform—connecting farmers, infrastructure, technology, processing and regional markets.
FAPEX — First Agricultural Processing & Export — is an agricultural value chain and infrastructure platform founded and developed by BITCO. It addresses a principal constraint facing Iraqi agriculture: the lack of integrated commercial infrastructure connecting agricultural production with modern inputs, post-harvest processing, quality systems, logistics and reliable markets.
Through a phased operating model, FAPEX brings these elements together to support farmers, improve product quality, create value-added processing capacity and strengthen Iraq’s agricultural export potential.
Five interconnected operating pillars turn agricultural production into reliable, market-ready products while building a scalable supply base.
Quality seed, fertilizer solutions, agronomic guidance, mechanized services, production planning and technical supervision.
FAPEX-operated land, contract farming and managed production partnerships that improve utilization, coordination and quality.
Collection, inspection, cleaning, grading, drying, baling, compression, warehousing, testing, packaging and export preparation.
Quality assurance, traceability, logistics management, commercial partnerships and export development for domestic and international buyers.
Digital farm management, precision agriculture, remote monitoring, ERP, traceability and future AI-assisted decision support.
FAPEX ONE will be the first operating asset within the platform, planned for Wasit Governorate—an established agricultural region with experienced farming communities, agricultural land, irrigation networks and multiple water resources.
The development is intended for government-owned land secured through a long-term investment lease, subject to relevant approvals and in accordance with Iraq’s Investment Law No. 13 of 2006, as amended.
FAPEX will begin with forage crops, led by alfalfa, as the initial commercial anchor for the platform.
FAPEX scales through proof, validation and disciplined expansion—building capability before complexity.
Target cumulative phased investment, subject to technical feasibility, market validation, financing availability and strategic partnerships.
Aligning public agricultural-development priorities with private-sector execution and international expertise.
FAPEX seeks relationships that contribute technology, expertise, capital and market access—not only conventional supplier arrangements.
BITCO is the founder, developer and strategic sponsor of FAPEX.
Established in 2004, BITCO operates through business units covering investment and real estate development, IT solutions, sustainable energy and agriculture, with offices in Baghdad, Erbil, Abu Dhabi and Auckland.
BITCO’s Iraqi ownership, Western-educated leadership and international business experience enable it to combine deep local-market understanding with global commercial standards.
Through FAPEX, BITCO seeks to serve as a bridge between Iraqi agriculture and international technology, capital and markets.
FAPEX is building the infrastructure, partnerships and commercial systems required to help Iraqi agriculture compete regionally and internationally.
